How an ADHD Evaluation Can Help Adults

An ADHD evaluation is a compassionate step toward understanding yourself, gaining insight, and clarity.

  • Understand how your brain works so you start using supportive strategies.
  • Identify the root of daily struggles with emotions, focus, organization, or other areas.
  • Open the door to personalized support, this can be therapy, workplace accommodations, or lifestyle tools.

What the ADHD Process Looks Like

Our assessment is designed as a series of supportive counseling sessions, not a one-time test. Throughout this process, you will:

  1. Explore Your Experiences & Goals
In the initial session, you’ll meet one-on-one with a licensed counselor who understands ADHD. This space is to discuss your concerns, daily challenges, and what you hope to gain from the service. This session sets the foundation for a collaborative, supportive process.

  2. Engage in Reflection & Assessment
Through conversations, ADHD-specific rating scales, and guided exercises, you and your counselor will explore patterns in attention, focus, organization, and emotional regulation. This step is designed to be strength-based, helping you recognize your unique skills while understanding areas of difficulty.

  3. Receive Insight & Personalized Recommendations
In follow-up sessions, your counselor will review findings with you and provide practical strategies, support, and guidance. Whether or not ADHD criteria are met, these sessions empower you to navigate challenges, leverage strengths, and create actionable steps for daily life, work, and relationships.

How do I know if I really need an ADHD evaluation?

There can be many reasons to seek an ADHD evaluation. For some, it is to gain clarity and connect the dots. Such as learning that losing keys and struggling with time management at its core is connected to ADHD.

If you’re feeling distracted, overwhelmed, or like you’re falling behind despite trying hard—an ADHD evaluation can help you understand what’s really going on.

What’s involved in the ADHD testing process?

Our process includes a three-part process.

  • Step 1: Initial Evaluation Session (2 Hours)
  • Step 2: Rating Scales & Data Collection

Can I get a diagnosis through this process?

The ADHD evaluation includes a structured process that aims to identify if there is an ADHD diagnosis present. If ADHD is present, your clinician will provide a formal diagnosis and a detailed ADHD report that you can use for counseling, medication referrals, work, or academic accommodations.

Can I get medication after the evaluation?

We do not prescribe medication. We can provide a referral to a medication provider if your results indicate that medication may be helpful.

Do I need to bring anything to my first session?

You can bring medical records if applicable. Other than that – just yourself!
